With a mix of dubstep and techno their sound is both modern and nostalgic, with hints of old skool & atmospheres that are uplifting and dark. IDM + DUBSTEP = AMOUSEMENT
Marcello Ruggiu,was born in 1980 in Sassari, Italy. Since 1996 he has been composing electronic music and playing live drums with various groups showcasing his diversity as an artist. Heavily inspired by IDM, Drum & Bass and Jungle, In 2009 his first solo album “Breakmalaria” was released on Till2012 Records.
Currently he has been in the studio recording drum tracks for the punk band Rodeo Clown’s new LP. Working under the artistic guise Amousement he has developed an intelligent bass driven sound that revolves around intricate rhythms and deep atmospheric beats.

RELEASE:
Intellistep_01 released for Altosync marks Amousement’s foray into the Dubstep landscape. This EP delivers a nuanced approach with skillful ease that unites all the tracks into a fluid expression.
Fueled by his passion for video games, the opening track “AMM” incorporates 5 levels for 5 different parts of the song. This momentum leads into track 2, featuring Amousement and UZZO’s voices,”Screwdriver” developed from recordings captured through an old Korean microphone. This mic actually required Amousement and Doctor P to incorporate a screwdriver to make the recording possible. Next is “The Battle of the Stupids” completely inspired by the title of a painting by the talented Sardinian artist Roberto Marras. The EP closes with “ASS” a swirling composition of trance inspired distorted drums and acid synths. Intellistep_01 ends begging to be played again.
